Lollies!

After a long day at work the other day I decided I needed some sugar -
You don't want to know how many I ate in one sitting. There are still a few left :o)

I made my way to Amitie for their sale on Friday. It really is a lovely store, I feel inspired every time I go in. Rumour has it that they are making room for some dress fabrics. I can't wait! I was pretty restrained with my purchases - I had to buy the green and white flowers. It's going to be a bag one day. As for the rest....stashed!

I have some mid-week days off this week so I'll get back into the purple wonder then.... I've said it now so I have too!
Sew well peeps,

Holy Pops!

What could it be?

I'm not normally so fickle but......

I'm in love again!

I won this awesome giveaway from Ms Cam at CurlyPops.
She made all of this for me!!!!
I was at her stall at the Daylesford Makers Market and she was obviously keeping an eye on my shopping because I commented how much I loved that specific sunglasses case and what should appear...

It's all so amazing and so very generous Cam - THANK YOU!
I can't wait to tote the tote, stash my sunglasses and wear my brooch with pride.
You're a gem.

I love the wonk!

I have never made a wonky star before but I will be making more!
I made this one for Flic as part of the 1st Wednesday Block Swap. I added a couple of fabrics but most is from Flic. Love her taste. I will explore the wonk a lot more from now on and endeavour to be more wonky next time. It was fun and freeing to do.

I started playing with my little squares. There is lots of repitition of patterns in different colourways. I'm a bit anal about not having too many similar patterns next to each other so I will try and plan this one out a bit more than I normally would. It's going to be a long process.

Ta Daaaaa!!!
I started the purple wonder.
That's your only sneak peak (unless I feel the need to flaunt it along the way).
Things seem to be coming together well so far.
Fingers crossed it lives up to its potential!

What a lovely sewing day. I pottered around, listened to music and patted some fabric.
I also managed some hard yards in the garden and went for a run.
I hope you all had wonderful lazy Sundays.

Night cat....

Just because I felt like it and so did she.
She who was out on the town last night and had to have a long lay in this morning. She even slept through me making lots of noise while I was doing the mowing. I guess she can't handle those late nights anymore.....

Sewing tomorrow. I love the feeling of an impending day at the machine and pottering around the sewing room with only love filled stitching to do.

Hope you're all finding stitchy happiness.

I've ironed out my flat spot

Firstly and most importantly - another and I think the final purple block. Oh, really, no more? No, no more but a huge total of guzumptymillion is probably more than enough!

This lovely block is from Andrea :

Actually guzumptymillion turns out to be SEVENTY TWO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is absolutely amazing. I have set out the blocks and just need to start pressing and stitching now. I'm so excited about how it is going to turn out. I'll keep you posed.

A sneak peak at piles of purpley fun....
And this was my therapy that got me over the tired hump and back to inspiration.
I turned this......

Into this!
Okay so not all of it but most of it. This is the Swell Nicey Jane that I picked out of the pile to iron. Doesn't it look pretty all pressed and folded. Love it!
I found the mundane-ness of ironing these a great way to refocus without making silly tired and permanent cutting mistakes. Thanks to all of you who wished me a good sleep and a brand new day :o)

No sew

I wish I could sew more. I work full time and shift work at that. Some days I just don't have the energy or the concentration levels required and sometimes I'm just lazy. I dream of getting a position that doesn't leave me so tired and days off that actually feel like days off.

Enough of sooky pants mode, these are things I've enjoyed today:

As silly as it seems, I'm excited because my olive has OLIVES!

How can you not smile when looking at sunflowers?

I'm pretty sure she was telling me off for something. Yelling 'I WANT FISH FOR TEA. GIVE ME FISH!!!' Love her :o)

Maybe a stitch or two tomorrow after a restful night tonight...

I have a crush.....

Nope, it's not a boy, not some famous singer, not even a well built sportsman it's.....A BLOGGY CRUSH.

Jules from Narioka has stolen my heart :o) I knew blogland was going to be a fun place. The idea of having a blog and then the thought of actually having followers seemed amazing. Be still my beating heart. What I didn't realise is that I would make really good friends. I had a great day at Julie's place the other week. She has wonderful property and a lovely family to make her house a home. Yep, I want her to adopt me!

If I could make a side bar, award button to give you Jules, I would. You make me giggle, you offer most excellent crafty and life advice and best of all you make the BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES EVER!!!!

Go visit her blog. She rocks. Please remember that she's mine and I'm keeping her (sorry Jules, it's just how it has to be :)

I'm so looking forward to putting bodies to the pictures of several other bloggers out there who are coming to Sew It Together in May. I can't wait to meet these chicks who actually make me snort with laughter sometimes. Not pretty at all but it means they must be damn funny! So much personality and crafty genius in one room could make my head explode.

I made a few essential purchases over the last weeks. I've been hankering for some Folksy Flannel by Anna Maria Horner but I was resiting. Then I got a 25% off discount at Quilt Home and I couldn't help myself.
I want to make a bright and fresh looking, but warm and snuggley quilt for winter as it gets very cold here and I love the feel of flannel.

I also bought some Wonderland as I can't resist it and then the fun cars just because they are cool. This lot was from Fabric Worm and it only took a week to get here which is amazing. Postage was reasonable and the prices were good so I'll shop there again.

Righto, that's enough love for one day. Stop blushing Jules!

Even more blocks!

How many blocks does it take to make a purpley quilt of love?
LOTS!

My lovely friend Michelle from Making Heirlooms created these two for the Purple Quilt. They will work in well with all of the others that I have received.
Ulla sent these three all the way from FINLAND!

Along with this lovely postcard.

I need to do a round up to see if I have all of the blocks that were offered. I think there are still a few coming and then it's time to make some big decisions. It's going to be fun.

Thanks to those of you who have sent some along. They are looking great!

Just stuff

I won this little lady some weeks ago from Tara at Waffling Along. She is going to be watching over my sewing room and keeping an eye on the stash when I'm not home.

I finally caught up with the lovely Michelle. We've been working together for a year and a half and have been talking about a stitching session but it just hadn't happened. Mish sent the text, did some baking and cracked the champas. We had a great evening and both managed to get some sewing done in between gossip and choccy. The butterfly quilt Mish is working on is absolutely lovely.

The last two days were supposed to be high productivity and a heap of sewing with my friend Jo. A visit to the Makers Market was about as close as we got to being crafty. Jo bought a great Ipod case from Cam and then we had a lovely, unhealthy lunch by the Lake in Daylesford.

I can't help but think of the horrific fires in Victoria on this day last year. I was glued to the tv and listening to the radio for hours, I live in a very treed area and felt nervous to say the least. I can't imagine how people have managed to pick up the pieces. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
