So that's how you do it....

So...you know how I can patch and sew like someone who has been doing it for eight years?
Well I must confess that I have no idea how to make clothes. I keep seeing the wonderful things that so many other bloggers make and I want in. I buy swodges of material with clothes in mind and I also buy patterns but I don't actually know how to cut a pattern out.

Or at least I didn't. Aunt Pam stepped up again and has shown me how. Lesson one was cutting and overlocking. It was fun and I seem to have something that resembles a skirt. It needs the yoke, band thing put on and a zip put in but that's for Lesson two. Looking forward to being twirly, wirly soon.

I also want to point out that exercise is BAD!
Guess who stepped in mud, went slip sliding and plopped her foot right into a mud puddle?
ME!!!
At least my toenails look fab :o)

And to keep you laughing...I dropped my mobile phone in the toilet today!
Eeeew gross, I know. I was't being weird and toileting while on the phone, it's just I got a call when I was in the middle of cleaning the bathroom. I thought I'd do a quick dust of the top of the cistern and then somehow a fumble ensued.

PLOP!

I fished it out, dried it and then Jules suggested putting it in a jar with dry rice to absorb any moisture. It seems okay so far....
You just gotta keep laughing.

Happy twirling, jumping through puddles and fishing,

Does anyone know what this fabric is and does anyone have any???
Favourite Aunty Pam is looking for this desperately. She is making a table runner and needs a 6.5 x 1.5 piece to finish it off. Can anyone help. Good karma and some sort of goodie will come your way.....

Happy sewing,

Fun-filled days

So the other week I went on a little jaunt with MrCP to the lovely Phillip Island. We stayed at a friends place and enjoyed a week of good food, lots of reading and even a bit of exercise.
We visited Churchill Island which has a lovely farm. That is where I met the nervous but photogenic sheep and a lovely horse. I highly recommend a visit as you can walk around the whole island and enjoy some wonderful bay views.

This last week I went to Rutherglen and Bright with my friend Lisa. This is us at the back of the Mercedes that we were chauffer driven around in. Five wineries later I was a little worse for wear....
Check out the haul though!!!
I can honestly say they aren't all mine but I also have to say I have no idea what the bubbles I bought at the last winery tastes like :o)

I just received these Cobblestone Blocks from Yuki. They should be the last to arrive so I guess I should show you where I am up to with the Purple Wonder....

Ha ha. That's all you get! I'm doing another row so it'll be 7 x7 (70inches square) and I have to say it is looking really good. I promise a big reveal soon.

Happy sewing Lovelies,

A big congratulations on her first Moda Bakeshop goodies.
I can't wait to give the pattern a try.
Well done Jules.

Fabulous PIF

Check out my fabulous Pay It Forward gift from Maree. I'm so lucky! She made me an absolutely stunning bag with beautiful applique and a great pincushion - I had just been thinking that I needed another decent sized one. There was also a lovely tin, some butterfly charms and a postcard of the Dongarra quilt hanging. It's more than I ever expected Maree, thank you.

This is the March installment of the 1st Wednesday Block Swap. Liz wanted triangles. It was supposed to be more wonky but this is what happened so I'm embracing it. I hope it works in well with the rest of Liz's blocks.

And this is what I did this afternoon. I just did a half batch of the recipe on M.E's blog. They look great and smell great and I'll be tasting them in just a minute....

Happy sewing and thanks to Chuck for looking after things in my absense.
More on my absense tomorrow...

Guest post

Hi everyone, my name is Chuck and I live around the corner from Ab. She asked me to do a guest post about my quilting endeavours but I thought I might talk about her instead. Abbe has been raving on about some purple creation that she seems to have got herself involved in. Not really sure of the details but she's definitely head down, bum up trying to get things done. I think she'll be off-line until that happens.

Oh, she has also meant to blog about the lovely Christmas wall hanging that he aunt Jude made for her. Why she hasn't blogged it before now, I don't know! It only just got taken down as the reality of chocolate eggs in the shops made her realise that the festive season is well and truly done. Anywho, Jude does wonderful work and is way more  talented and productive then she realises.

Wishing you all many happy sewing days and several bananas (what a stereotype!)
Chuck :o)
Ps. Hope you like the pic of me, the right is my best side...
