The view from here....

Hello Belly Town!
37 weeks today.
No rumbles.
No Braxton Hicks.
Even time for a bit of sewing. This is for Helen in the Around the Block swap.
The cot is finally set up with the mattress.
Note monkey bought by Mr CP for baby for Christmas.
And this gorgeous set was made by my mum for her best friends baby. The bestie, Marg, used it for both her girls and then saved it for me (for 34 years!). Tears came to my eyes when I opened the package. It's so wonderful to have something my mum made as she passed away when I was 17 and I know she would have been crafting away for her grandchild if she could.

Time for the couch (my new bestie) and some uninterrupted telly time. Something I know will become rare in a few weeks time.

I hope you are all sewing well,
Ab xx

  5. I got all excited when I read the title, thinking that the view might be a wee small baby head full of lovely baby smell. Not yet but the mahoosive and gorgeous baby belly will do for now.

That Marg is so special, huh. Loving that a little grandmotherly craftiness will be there for Baby Patch.

  14. My mum's bestie gave me the cot linen she used for her daughter when she was a wee babe (wit the safe knowledge and blessings of the daughter who knew that she would have no use for them) I love them. That cardi/bootie set is a whole lot more than wool Ab's and I think it is ABsolutley wonderful that you now have it - your Mum would be so grateful to Marg, and she'll be (is) no doubt- looking on and smiling loads. Love to you and your bump - your both looking fabulous. Now - get back to the couch. P xo

  18. That is so sweet and oh so special. what a lovely thing to have. My mum died 10 years ago so she wasn't around when I started to have kids but I have the going home outfit from hospital that my mum bought for her first grandchild and all my 3 girls wore it home too. I know how special it feels to have a peice of your mum when she isn't here in person. You looking good girl!!!

  19. So good to see you! Oh my word, your belly looks perfect.
How wondrous to be gifted something handworked by mum. I got a bit teary too.
Weve been doing the same around here, breaking out the hand-me downs ive saved with Adelin's birth coming up.
I recommend going to see a movie as that, for us, was one of the more difficult things to do once baby was born.
