The 'F' word

F is for finish...okay so the top is finished but I've also joined the back so I'm well on the way there. I love how this top has turned out. The Midwest Modern fabrics looks really fresh teamed with the off-white muslin.

I trawled through the stash and found a nice big piece of funky pink MM for the backing.
It's like it was meant to be :o)

And this baby?
This is the backing for the Purple Wonder.
I'm going to piece it over the weekend. I'm undecided about adding blocks to the backing, I'll have a bit of a play and see what looks best. Hopefully I can start quilting it over the coming week.

This is what has been happening in the garden.
Lots of tomatoes and a lovely big pumpkin. It's a 'Turks Turban' which is an heirloom variety I grew from seed that I bought at Diggers in Blackwood.
I think I'll be making some pumpkiney things over the next few weeks as there's another this size and then I have several other varieties nearing their harvest time.

F is also for Fabulous Friday. It was a stunning day so I made sure I enjoyed it.
Time in the garden, time at the sewing machine and now time for a chick flick and chocolate.
A well rounded day.

Sew well,
Ab x

  9. Very pretty and I like the backing fabric for both quilts. You are going to be busy quilting for a while. Nice vegies too, put Blackwood on the agenda for when I finally come and visit. Are you a member of their club?

I keep sniffing the air to see if I can tell what's cooking too, but I guess we're too far apart.
